Our recent research highlighted as “EXCEPTIONAL” by F1000Prime

We are very grateful for recognition of our recent work on the superior colliculus as being “EXCEPTIONAL” by F1000Prime! The full recommendation can be read here: Access the recommendation on F1000Prime

F1000Prime faculty member Prof. Richard Krauzlis highlighted our 2019 Current Biology paper on “The foveal visual representation of the primate superior colliculus”. In this work, we discovered, among other things, much larger foveal magnification in the superior colliculus visual representation than previously thought. This has very strong implications on our understanding on the role of the superior colliculus in eye movement control, cognition, as well as visual perception, as we describe in more detail here. We also developed a new model of how the superior colliculus represents visual space, as described here, which we believe will be of great use to neuroscientists in general.

Our full paper, as well as a second earlier commentary (Dispatch) on it, can be read here and here, respectively.
