Our lab participated in this year’s 4th Baltic Biophysics Conference, which took place in Kaunas, Lithuania.
Our lab’s work was featured in a special session on visual neuroscience, with talks about the superior colliculus (SC) and the primary visual cortex (V1). In this session, we got a chance to document our extensive characterization of the similarities and differences between SC and V1 visual responses, with important implications on how we achieve active vision by successively shifting our gaze.
A very interesting aspect of the conference was that we got exposed to a whole wide range of highly advanced techniques that can be ported to neuroscience, like with advanced sensing and perturbation of biological tissues.
Our institute was also very well-represented at this conference because, besides our lab, the conference also featured exciting work by the lab of our colleague Ivana Nikic!
