SPP 2411 “Sensing Loops” Annual Retreat 2026

Our lab participated in the third annual retreat of the Special Priority Programme 2411 on cortical and subcortical sensing loops.

In this special priority programme of the German Research Foundation (DFG), different groups across Germany focus on studies of cortical-subcortical interactions in mammalian brains.

Our lab has been funded by this program, allowing us to investigate cortico-collicular interactions in the visual-oculomotor systems of the primate brain.

This year, we presented one talk (by Ziad) and two posters. The talk was about the relationships between primary visual cortex and superior colliculus in visually-driven eye movement behaviors. The two posters were on superior colliculus and primary visual cortex physiology, as well as on brainstem oculomotor control circuit mechanisms for microsaccades.

We look forward to continuing our membership in this community for the second funding period of the special priority programme!
