Antimo joins the lab
Antimo Buonocore has joined us from the lab of David Melcher in Trento. Antimo will collaborate with us on neurophysiological studies investigating the interface between vision and action in the oculomotor system.

Joachim is participating at this year’s NeNa 2015 conference. This conference is an annual event in Tuebingen, and it is unique in its primary focus on young neuroscience students as participants, poster presenters, and speakers. Joachim will be talking about his recent discoveries on how microsaccades influence perceptual and motor performance in humans and[…]
We have a new paper in press at Frontiers in Systems Neuroscience. The paper is part of a Special Research Topic on Perisaccadic Vision, hosted by the Frontiers journal. This special research topic is guest edited by Marc Zirnsak, Fred Hamker, and Tirin Moore. In our paper, we (Hafed, Chen, and Tian) summarize our lab’s[…]
We have a new master’s student who is interested in the physiology of active vision. Before coming to Tuebingen, Konstantin studied at the Technical University of Chemnitz. He is now part of our international graduate school of neural and behavioral sciences.
Our lab is participating in this year’s joint symposium between our institute and the National Institute for Physiological Sciences (NIPS) in Okazaki, Japan. This symposium is part of a long term collaboration that we are having with our Japanese colleagues. The symposium features several interesting talks and posters by Tuebingen and Japanese colleagues.
Congratulations to Chen for winning the prestigious Attempto Prize of Tuebingen University. Chen won the recognition for his recent Current Biology paper, and he is scheduled to receive his prize and give a talk about his work at the Tuebingen Neurocolloqium seminar series. The press release is here.
Our lab is participating at this year’s annual meeting of the society for neuroscience. Chen and Tian each presents a poster on his work.
A recent article from our lab was featured in a Current Biology Dispatch authored by Dr. Adam Morris.
Ziad participates at this year’s European Conference on Eye Movements in Vienna. He describes recent and ongoing experiments in the lab on the role of areas such as the superior colliculus in representing visual salience, and on how such representation can be altered around the time of eye movements.
Chen and Ziad participate in this year’s Gordon Research Conference on eye movements.
