European Conference on Visual Perception 2022

Our very own Tatiana Malevich gave an exciting talk at a symposium in this year’s European Conference on Visual Perception. The conference took place in Nijmegen (the Netherlands), and the symposium was on the phenomenon of inhibition of return, in which reaction times in attentional cueing tasks can be elevated at previously cued locations.

Tatiana’s talk was on the influence of top-down cognitive factors in influencing inhibition of return and the likelihood of return fixations in naturalistic visual search tasks.

Tatiana ended her talk with a description of how neurophysiological recordings can help clarify many of the remaining mysteries that persist in studies of inhibition of return. Our lab’s published work has already touched upon some of these topics, like here and here and here. However, stay tuned for more exciting results to come out of Tatiana’s work in the near future.
