Our lab participated in this year’s Oculomotor meeting, which took place in Zürich’s Vertigo Center.
This meeting represents an annual tradition allowing the gathering of clinicians and scientists from Tübingen, Münich, and Zürich, as well as other interested individuals from neighboring communities. What joins us all is a mutual interest in matters related to the oculomotor and vestibular systems, and the meeting gives us a chance to learn about the latest clinical issues related to patients of dizziness and neurodegenerative diseases. Our work is relevant to this meeting as well because it provides foundational knowledge that can help clinicians understand their patients’ disorders.
This year, Matthias presented our work on per-saccadic mislocalization, Yue presented our work on neural adaptation patterns in the primary visual cortex, Wenbin showed our results on peri-microsaccadic changes in visual sensitivity of superior colliculus neurons, and Tanya described our efforts to understand how multi-sensory stimulation can help restore function in patients losing conscious visual perception after loss of the primary visual cortex.
