Our lab just participated in the fantastic Berlin conference on “Subcortico-cortical loops in sensory processing and perception” last week, which took place in the Charité Berlin University Hospital campus.
The conference was organized by Livia de Hoz and Julio Hechavarria as part of the newly established Special Priority Programme (SPP) 2411 on “Sensing LOOPS: cortico-subcortical interactions for adaptive sensing”.
The conference covered a wide range of sensory and motor modalities, as well as several different species, and it was a great opportunity to have inter-disciplinary dialogs among different neuroscientific research communities that may not normally get a chance to communicate together so closely.
Our lab described some of our ideas on how functional specialization in the primate superior colliculus can support integrating vision and action in a most intriguing manner.
The conference was simultaneously streamed on Crowdcast as part of the WorldWideNeuro LOOPS webinar series, which our lab has also perviously participated in. The talks were also all recorded, and videos of the talks can be seen from the appropriate link in the conference web site listed above.
