Our lab participated in the first in-person VSS conference since the start of the pandemic. It felt nice to visit the conference site once again, and to see so many familiar and new members of the Vision Sciences Society all join together to present and discuss science.
From our lab, Matthias and Ziad presented two related works on sensory tuning in neuronal movement commands.
Tong presented psychophysical results related to our previous and ongoing work on pre-microsaccadic enhancement of visual sensitivity.
And, Tanya, who unfortunately could not attend due to visa problems, presented (via our other attending members) observations on how the superior colliculus detects dark stimuli significantly faster than bright stimuli.
Stay tuned for the “Virtual” VSS to see videos of all of our presentations in less than one week!
